Pitt EDGE is the University of Pittsburgh’s central hub for digital education, housed within the Office of the Provost. This inaugural Center advances the University’s strategic vision for online, hybrid, and continuing education by partnering with Pitt’s 16 schools to expand access and improve quality for diverse learners. Pitt EDGE supports the full lifecycle of digital learning through services such as instructional design, technology integration, market analysis, academic planning, recruitment, and quality assurance.

Job Summary
Consult with educators on the design, development, and delivery of moderately complex instructional materials and the integration of instructional technologies.
Essential Functions
- Consults individually with faculty and subject matter experts on the design and development of instructional content and the integration of instructional technologies for new online and hybrid courses/programs.
- Conducts needs assessments for online and hybrid course design.
- Develops or transitions curricula for new online or hybrid programs utilizing appropriate instructional technologies, authoring tools, and features of the learning management system (LMS).
- Builds and reviews online and hybrid courses within the LMS.
- Designs, develops, and edits text-based and multimedia content for online and hybrid courses.
- Recommends teaching methods for online and hybrid learning modalities and implements pedagogical improvements for online and hybrid courses.
- Conducts training programs related to online and hybrid pedagogy or technology.
- Conducts quality assurance and digital accessibility reviews on instructional content for online and hybrid courses.
Other Skills
- Experience with graphic design and Artificial Intelligence is a plus.
Physical Effort
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and work with computing technology. This position involves extensive screen time.
