Remedy508: Document Accessibility Remediation Software

Remedy508
$19 per month · Online
Not yet rated

Remedy508 is document accessibility remediation software for higher education, government, healthcare and accessibility teams. It remediates documents you already have against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, rather than teaching you to author accessible content from scratch.

Tools available today

  • Remedy Docs — upload a Word document or PDF; it detects images, tables and multi-column layouts and remediates the whole document.
  • Remedy Video — upload video or audio and get a timecoded, VTT-style transcript ready for captions.
  • Remedy HTML — paste Canvas LMS page HTML to fix heading hierarchy, colour contrast, missing alt text and table issues.
  • Remedy Image — generates concise, WCAG-compliant alt text, with long descriptions for complex charts.
  • Remedy Layout — presentations and flyers remediated while preserving the original layout. Listed by the vendor as coming soon.

Free accessibility checker. A browser-based checker for PDF and Word files tests for tags, headings, tables, alt text and language. It needs no account and no credits, and the vendor states that document contents stay in the browser and are not uploaded. Remedy508 describes it as automated guidance rather than certification — manual review is still needed to confirm compliance.

Pricing (as listed, October 2026). Individual is $19/month or $199/year for one seat with 130 credits a month across all tools. Team is $249 per seat per year, annual only with a two-seat minimum, and adds 145 credits per seat per month, an admin dashboard, per-user document history and payment by invoice or PO. Credits are consumed per page, image, transcript or fix.

Why it is listed here. Accessibility language now appears in 38.6% of the L&D roles on our job board, and in 51% of university roles — but it is named in a job title in well under 1% of postings. The work is routinely assigned to instructional designers and course developers who are not accessibility specialists. This is a tool for that situation.
