As we expand our reach, we are seeking a Senior AI and Social Learning Lead to help us scale our manager development experience through direct application of social learning models and AI skilling. 

This individual contributor role reports to the Director, Manager Development and is responsible fordesigning and activating social learning and AI-powered solutions that increase the efficiency, reach and peer to peer development programs – without compromising quality or engagement. This key role will lead the development of scalable, data-informed solutions that elevate the manager experience at Microsoft while setting best practices, defining standards for the integration of social learning and AI into managerdevelopment at the company. 

The Senior AI and Social Learning Lead develops, guides, and manages development programs and initiatives for managers at Microsoft by identifying organizational needs, securing resources, evangelizing with senior stakeholders, and prioritizing work. This role leads the implementation of core development programs and systems leveraging social learning and AI methodology as applicable. The Senior AI and Social Learning Lead represents their domain as a thought leader in their area when reviewing learning and development solutions and best practices in the industry with internal and external clients. This role works across audiences (e.g.,businesses, segments, managers, HR etc.) to provide complex information by leveraging full subject-matter expertise. It also drives and builds on the collections, solutions and dissemination processes across audiences along established research-method guidelines.

Responsibilities

Content Review and Confirmation 

  • Represents Manager Excellence and Development as a thought leader in social learning and AI skilling reviewing learning and development solutions and best practices in the industry with internal and external clients.  
  • Drives program/content assessment for the team prior to rollout. Ensures established privacy and accessibility standards are being met during content review while considering and tracking potential risks. 

Program Execution 

  • Leads the implementation of manager development programs and systems.  
  • Drives the content improvement process through collecting, examining, and incorporating 360-degree feedback and data to make content adjustments.  
  • Drives the mapping of the necessary points of engagement with relevant stakeholders to enable program and content execution. 

Program Planning and Development 

  • Develops, guides, and manages development programs and initiatives for managers at Microsoft by identifying organizational needs, securing resources, evangelizing with senior stakeholders, and prioritizing work.  
  • Supports and prioritizes short and long-term planning efforts that capture the voice of the manager.  
  • Determines how to best leverage and apply resources available across the business to execute on the plan.  
  • Manages financial planning and forecasting and determines budgets through assessing financial trends.

Stakeholder/Customer Collaboration 

  • Exemplifies best practices in identifying and developing relationships with key stakeholders/partners to represent manager development needs.  
  • Leverages deep expertise of local/regional and global perspectives and drives consistent diversity and inclusion efforts with all key learning stakeholders.  
  • Designs and maintains rhythm of business cadence with key stakeholders and leaders. 
  • Communicates learning and development approaches to senior leaders and stakeholders to educate them on and influence buy in and implementation of solutions.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent AND/OR 3+ years experience in talent development, human resources (HR), AI Skilling, Social Learning, or program/project management OR Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor’s Degree)  AND/OR 5+ years experience in talent development , human resources (HR), AI Skilling, Social Learning, or program/project management OR equivalent experience. 
  • 2+ years of experience focusing on innovation and technology with demonstrated experience applying AIand social learning in HR, talent, or learning contexts. 
  • 2+ years of experience in translating complex AI capabilities into practical, human-centered solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience with social learning models and familiarity with adaptive learning systems, personalization engines, or AI-driven content curation.  

Additional or Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in a start-up company or environment
  • 2+ years experience managing large-scale or complex projects/programs  
  • Experience with process optimization, including mapping, redesign, and automation of workflows.  
  • Proficiency with Power BI for data visualization, reporting, and insight generation.  
  • Consulting skills and executive presence, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across levels.  
  • Demonstrated commitment to security, privacy and compliance.  
  • Experience with Microsoft AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Viva, Azure AI) or similar platforms.  
  • Background in design thinking, systems thinking, or behavioral science.  
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and responsible AI. 
  • Passion for coaching, management anddevelopment  

Integrated Learning IC5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 – $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 – $222,600 per year.
