Job Description:

Salary Range: $46,300 – $52,000 per year; DOE

Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation (MLFC) is seeking a high performing and service-oriented individual with exceptional attention to detail to support our faculty and staff. The ideal candidate is driven to identify, anticipate, and solve operational challenges across multiple programs that serve thousands of students. They adapt to changing needs or circumstances and demonstrate initiative and sound judgment in both routine and unexpected situations.

Under supervision of the Assistant Manager of Scheduling and Staffing Operations, this role facilitates, coordinates, and oversees the technical and administrative processes involved in monitoring and staffing courses. The position supports the delivery of large-scale courses and programs with facilitated support components, and works closely with faculty, instructional designers, and operational teams to ensure high-quality, consistent, and timely course delivery.

The role is execution-focused, and ensures that courses are adequately staffed to comply with quality and operational expectations, while meeting college and university deadlines.

Essential Duties

  • Supports hiring and evaluation of instructors each term, including: reviewing recommendations made by faculty, determining assignments based on staffing and enrollment needs, and reviewing and providing feedback on evaluation of instructors at end of each term
  • Works closely with Fiscal and Business Operations to ensure hiring documents are completed and submitted each semester
  • Reviews routine enrollment reports to determine hiring needs.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for trouble-shooting issues, problems and/or concerns associated with instructor assignments
  • Receives and responds to inquiries and/or concerns and identifies appropriate academic or technical resources to facilitate timely and satisfactory resolution
  • Performs periodic course and instructor data analysis
  • Distributes important information and support materials each term to instructors
  • Performs all other job-related activities, assignments and duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience in: 

  • Logistical support in higher education or academic operations
  • Effectively identifying issues, triaging potential problems and initiating solutions to ensure timely resolution
  • Organizing resources and managing deadlines and workload priorities with frequent interruptions or changes 
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication and working relationships with faculty and staff
  • Using formulas, maintaining and manipulating Microsoft / Google docs and sheets and navigating enterprise-level systems such as: Airtable, PeopleSoft, and Analytics

Work Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting and involve extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and use of a computer mouse
  • Position may require travel between campus locations or buildings for meetings or job-related tasks
  • Regular activities require the ability to manage and adjust to changing priorities, including handling time-sensitive tasks and resolving conflicts
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
  • MLFC supports flexible work options for certain positions, such as alternate work schedules and hybrid remote arrangements, subject to approvals per ASU policy
