Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Instructional Technologist is responsible for supporting and driving adoption of core academic technologies to support teaching and learning. This position must stay current on trends in instructional technology, make recommendations for new technology tools to be implemented on campus, and regularly communicate instructional technology-related information to the faculty and administrative leadership.

• Support faculty and staff use of core learning technologies by providing support resources and troubleshooting technical issues, including the creation of print and video instructional guides and regularly scheduled opportunities for live consulting.
• Conduct systematic evaluations of instructional technology initiatives and communicate with end users regularly regarding advancements and enhancements.
• Configure core learning technologies to ensure optimal operation and usage in alignment with academic processes and policies of the university and in support of innovative educational opportunities.
• Provide training sessions and workshops for faculty on the use of instructional technologies.
• Other Duties as Assigned.

• Experience working in higher education or a similar setting. 
• Strong understanding of learning managements systems, multimedia development tools, and emerging educational technologies. 
• Strong organization, self-motivation and analytical skills. 
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration and teamwork skills. 
• Ability to appropriately assess the needs of end users and develop professional development programs tailored to individuals with varying levels of technological proficiency. 
• Exceptional skills as a trainer. 
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines for education.

Required Education: Master’s degree in Instructional/Educational Technology required.

Required Experience: 1 – 3 years working in a higher education or similar educational settings experience required, 4-6 years preferred.
