Job Summary:
The Data Science program welcomes applications for an Online Programs Learning Facilitator! The online and asynchronous Master of Science in Data Science (MS-DS) and at the University of Colorado Boulder are innovative programs offering a rigorous curriculum and flexible learning model to a global population. The Data Science program is seeking a candidate who is passionate about accessible education and delivering a high quality online learning experience for students.
The Online Programs Learning Facilitator assists the online MS-DS degree program by providing course-specific individual or group student support and tutoring during office hours and facilitating student interactions within a virtual learning environment. This role is responsible for curriculum review and management, updates to existing digital course materials in coordination with course faculty, collaborating closely with Coursera representatives to mitigate issues related to the LMS, and grading assignments. Experience working with a non-traditional and global population of mid- or senior-level professionals is a plus. This role interfaces regularly with Coursera and department team members. Our curriculum leverages CU Boulder faculty expertise to offer technical depth and functional breadth while emphasizing cross-functional communication and teamwork—skills vital to data scientists, who increasingly work with stakeholders across a wide spectrum of domains.
CU Boulder data science students choose from multiple modalities, including a traditional on-campus degreeand our innovative MS-DS on Coursera. Regardless of which option they choose, students engage with a rigorous, comprehensive curriculum and obtain high-level technical skills. Our alumni build complex quantitative algorithms to organize and synthesize large amounts of information and employ machine learning techniques to classify and predict behaviors, helping to answer questions and drive strategy in a wide variety of organizations. What We Can Offer
The starting salary range for this position is $74,400 – $85,800 annually. Relocation assistance is available within department guidelines.
