The Training and Development Officer will be responsible for the training of new hires and support for on-going training, development, and project based initiatives in the Residential Operations Department. The Officer will be responsible for the coordination, delivery, tracking and reporting on relevant Projects as deemed a priority by the business. The Officer will work to develop new material and update existing material as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Training & Development
  • Assist with the coordination, conducting, reporting, and assessment of new hire training in the residential operations department.
  • Assist with the creation, and implementation of key service standards.
  • Create 30-60-90 day plans for new employees that tailor to each departments key learning objectives.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of training programs that make the best use of available resources.
  • Keep existing training materials up to date, resolve specific problems and re-tailor the training as required.
  • Provide feedback to trainees in a kind, respective and clear manner.
  • Create training material via online learning modules, and other educational materials such as multimedia visual aids and presentations (Articulate360 and Absorb experience an asset.)
  • Maintain a key understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices.

Projects

  • Work with business leaders to help organize and strategize the training components for new projects, ensuring all potentially impacted parties are accounted for in the plan.
  • Compile Project Plans as required (Asana experience an asset.)
  • Obtain, and maintain Stakeholder Buy-in.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams (Change Management, and People Managers) towards the successful completion of projects.
  • Deliver regular stakeholder updates.
  • Deliver projects on timely basis and meet all deadlines.

Analytics

  • Deliver regular updates on project implementation post-launch to stakeholders as needed.
  • Advise on methods of improvement, serve as a point of reference for Subject Matter Experts (SME’s).
  • Be proactive in solving issues before they become problems.
  • Leverage system knowledge in providing advice for methods of fine-tuning.

Miscellaneous

  • Ability to self-lead
  • Build solid cross-functional relationships within the company.
  • Comply with all internal standards and guidelines as well as all federally and provincially regulated policies and laws as related to AMLATF, KYC and Privacy laws.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Support for DTC channel required.

Education / Experience / Skills:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business or adult education
  • 2+ years in residential mortgage administration or origination
  • Previous training experience an asset
  • Previous B lending experience an asset
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other office applications (Google Suite an asset.)
  • Bi-lingual (English and French) is an asset (both verbal and written)
