Job Description

Position Summary:

This role provides performance & learning expertise to internal and external audiences, including employees, volunteers and more. This role is responsible for maximizing talent through innovative, learner-centered, and impactful performance & learning solutions that align to our strategic performance outcomes. This role’s assignments range from moderate to highly complex and requires skills in consulting, adult learning, instructional design, learning technology, and project management.

Accountabilities:
Learner Experience:

  • Enable employees to provide our customers with world class service, support and experience through innovative learning strategies and curricula 
  • Partner with team and business project leads to identify performance needs and consult on strategically aligned performance and learning recommendations 
  • Promote and establish immersive learner experiences to guide performance, including but not limited to role-specific learner personas and learning journeys 
  • Apply knowledge & skills in consulting, instructional design, development processes, tools, strategies, delivery, and evaluation methods to enable best in class service and performance 
  • Design and develop all types of learning solutions using a variety of development tools that exemplify good practices in instructional design 
  • Measure the effectiveness of development initiatives and recommend improvements
  • Provide train-the-trainer services for support SME facilitator development 
  • Stay current on learning theory, instructional design, delivery methods, and best practices related to performance & learning, and sharing with the team

LMS Administration & Support (Primary or Secondary):

  • Serve as a customer-facing point of contact for new training request intake and business-as-usual LMS support needs
  • Conduct learning and development needs analysis
  • Create and configure courses and offerings within the LMS, including uploading and maintaining content across multiple formats (SCORM, video, and documents)
  • Create and manage assignments, including automated assignment rules, to ensure timely delivery of learning to targeted audiences
  • Manage learner groups, special access permissions, and external user accounts
  • Maintain learner records with appropriate documentation, including exemptions, exceptions, and manual completions
  • Understand current and future capability needs
  • Coordinate SME reviews to ensure content accuracy and relevance
  • Archive and retire outdated content to maintain a current, high-quality course catalog
  • Support and enable L&D specialists across the business in their use of the LMS

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge Of:

  • Performance Consultation Techniques 
  • Instructional Design & Adult Learning Principles 
  • MS Office, Adobe, Articulate, WebEx, Learning Management Systems, and/or other related talent technology and social collaboration tools 
  • Change Management Principles 
  • Project Management 
  • Facilitation Techniques

Ability to:

  • Create modern, visually appealing content for today’s learners that is aesthetically pleasing and easy to consume 
  • Apply current and emerging instructional design principles and learner-centered design methods with demonstrated application through innovative learning experiencesEngage diverse audiences through learning programs with impactful outcomes
  • Demonstrate high degree of business acumen and ability to lead through influence 
  • Communicate effectively in all situations with strong interpersonal and consultation skills 
  • Establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, using diplomacy to address conflict and resolve solutions 
  • Self-motivate to lead and execute projects on time and within budget 
  • Manage and rapidly prioritize multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Handle and maintain confidential information 
  • Travel 1-3 trips per year (as needed)

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of learning & development experience
  • Proven success and experience in instructional design, outcome-based program design, innovative classroom design, complex, multi-media-rich e-learning experience design, hands-on digital and experience design, and/or instructional technology 
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with SME facilitators to design materials and facilitation coaching in a fast paced and high change work environment

Preferred Qualifications: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)

  • Relevant certifications and/or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Education, I/O Psychology, or Organizational Development
  • Experience working in a healthcare and/or regulated environment
