About the Role
The Specialist, Learning and Development is responsible for supporting the learning and development needs of staff and leaders at the university. The role provides expertise to the coordination and delivery of learning and development initiatives based on best practices, to support outstanding leadership, foster employee potential and engagement, and create a learning culture. The Specialist contributes to the continuous improvement of learning and development programs, services and opportunities through monitoring, reviewing and soliciting feedback from participants to ensure effectiveness and exceptional learner experiences.
We are looking for a collaborative and organized professional who is passionate about learning, leadership development, and employee experience. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, coordinating programs and events, and supporting employees and leaders through meaningful learning opportunities. They bring strong communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Success in this role requires initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related discipline and three years of experience delivering learning and development programs or services to a diverse community in a large organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when coordinating programs, events, records, communications, and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercise sound judgment, and contribute to the successful delivery of learning, leadership development, and employee experience initiatives.

The pay range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for the position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the pay range.
