About the Position

A Senior Learning Consultant leads strategic engagements with the University’s business units – diagnosing challenges, designing interventions, and building solutions that drive behavior change and performance outcomes. Partners with senior business stakeholders, including executives at the VP and SVP level, to structure ambiguous problems and shape targeted or complex learning solutions.

After launch, remains connected to evaluate effectiveness, interpret impact data, and guide iteration in partnership with the Senior Program Manager, Learning Operations, and other Learning Innovation partners. Operates within Learning Innovation as a strategic consulting capability built for craft, depth, and high-impact problem solving

What You’ll Do

  • Lead consulting engagements from diagnosis through solution design, build, deployment support, measurement planning, and post-launch iteration; structure problems that don’t come pre-structured.
  • Partner with senior business stakeholders, including executives at the VP and SVP level, to scope business challenges and co-design solutions; represent the Learning Innovation function with executive credibility.
  • Diagnose performance and behavior change challenges; identify where the right intervention is learning and where the work belongs somewhere else first.
  • Assess the complexity, scale, and durability of each solution to determine the right delivery model – consultant-led, operations-led, or shared and adjust the level of consulting involvement as the work evolves.
  • Design and build learning solutions that produce behavior change, not just knowledge transfer; apply adult learning, behavior change, and performance principles to solution architecture.
  • Direct project teams staffed from across the Learning Innovation function – instructional designers, multimedia designers, AI specialists, program managers – through engagement delivery.
  • Remain connected after launch to evaluate impact, understand what is and is not working, and guide iteration over time; partner with the Senior Program Manager when a solution becomes part of a broader program portfolio or requires ongoing operational ownership.
  • Use AI fluently as a consulting tool – for research synthesis, diagnostic analysis, content development, rapid prototyping, and stakeholder communication.
  • Develop the Consultant through co-engagement on complex work; provide craft feedback in the flow of the work and bring them into stretch opportunities.
  • Contribute to the function’s consulting craft – shared frameworks, engagement patterns, quality standards, and points of view.
  • Perform other duties as required or apparent.

Note:  The Primary Accountabilities above are intended to describe the general content and requirements of the position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties.  Incumbents may perform all or most of the Primary Accountabilities listed above.  Specific goals or responsibilities will be documented in incumbents’ performance objectives as outlined by the incumbents’ immediate manager.
