Clinical Informatics oversees training and workflow development for the Epic electronic health record. This includes providing training and support for new employees as well as ongoing support for all Epic users.
Instructional Designers are experienced educational training professionals who know how to apply adult learning behavior theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field. They work with subject matter experts to learn workflows and apply instructional design methodology to the development of training materials for Epic system upgrades and optimizations.
Clinical Informaticists apply their clinical training and experience to evaluate and improve workflows for clinical users of Epic. This includes proposing and overseeing system optimizations, collaborating with system analysts, and working with Instructional Designers on the development of training materials as needed. Clinical Informaticists round with users to observe workflows and provide at-the-elbow support as needed.
Job Summary:
The Instructional Designer I is an experienced educational training professional who knows how to apply adult learning behavior theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field. They can independently perform the full range of responsibilities within the function, possess broad job knowledge, analyze problems / issues of diverse scope, and determine solutions. This position is involved in designing, developing, and conducting health information systems training for clinical and non-clinical end-users in alignment with the organizational strategic plan, regulatory requirements, and clinical outcomes.
