It’s an exciting time to be part of Delta’s Reservations team as we redefine how and where we serve customers and set new standards for the experiences we create for customers as well as thousands of Reservations and Care employees. We’re continuing to evolve our learning model by creating fresh, innovative, and scalable learning experiences for employees throughout every level of the division from new hire training to leadership support programs and everywhere in between.

As a Program Manager, you’ll act as a cross-divisional partner on strategic initiatives by leading the development and operationalization of a scalable content strategy across the Res Learning portfolio. This role will work closely with stakeholders to identify and address learning and content needs, develop scalable strategies, and help ensure employees are equipped with effective, relevant, and sustainable learning solutions. You’ll provide strategic leadership in emerging content models, including microlearning, user generated content, and the thoughtful use of AI and technology to improve scalability, efficiency, and consistency across the portfolio.

Under minimal direction, the Program Manager performs tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Consult with stakeholders throughout the division to identify scalable and relevant learning and content solutions that support business needs across the portfolio, including onboarding, upskilling, field initiative support, and BAU work
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge, skills, content coverage, and learning support, and develop plans to address those gaps
  • Lead the development and execution of a scalable content strategy across the learning portfolio
  • Define and operationalize the team’s approach to microlearning, reusable content, and user generated content
  • Establish standards, governance, workflows, and decision criteria for content development, maintenance, and reuse
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques and content approaches, including digital learning, classroom training, job shadowing, coaching, microlearning, scalable content models, performance support, and AI-enabled tools where appropriate
  • Partner with Learning Measurement and Enablement to evaluate the effectiveness of learning and content solutions and make recommendations for improvements as necessary
  • Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders to identify and respond to changing business needs and emerging trends in learning and development
  • Partner with external vendors, where needed, to ensure high-quality and cost-effective learning solutions
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to use AI-enabled tools and processes to improve content development, maintenance, scalability, and operational efficiency
  • Work collaboratively with the Learning Design team and business stakeholders to create impactful and sustainable learning experiences
  • Coach, influence, and support team members in adopting scalable content practices and standards
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • 7+ years of related work experience
  • Experience in training, learning design, content strategy, program management, or learning and development in a corporate environment
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects or programs from strategy through execution
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional methodologies, and learning strategy
  • Experience developing and managing scalable learning or content solutions, frameworks, or operating models
  • Strong stakeholder consulting skills and ability to translate business needs into learning and content solutions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Exceptional writing, design, and communication skills, as well as strong editing skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven organization
  • Strong and transparent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Some travel required (<10%)
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, or equivalent job experience/education
  • Advanced degree in a related field strongly preferred
  • Performance consulting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience creating microlearning strategies, content libraries, or reusable learning assets
  • Experience developing, enabling, or governing user generated content models
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools or workflows to support content strategy, learning design, content development, or operational efficiency
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with external vendor management
  • Experience with creative authoring tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience creating assets, reports, or dashboards that support portfolio management and prioritization
  • Demonstrated experience with usability principles
