About the Role:

The Sr L&D Manager defines, maintains, and enables adoption of enterprise learning standards while owning the governance, quality, and lifecycle of learning content across CBRE, including the skills and career pathing management executed via the LMS.

This person ensures learning content is high quality, consistent, compliant, and aligned to enterprise priorities, while enabling flexibility for business specific needs. It provides the guardrails and editorial judgement required to scale learning safely and credibly — particularly as AI enabled content creation and curation become more prevalent.

The role leads a team focused on two key objectives, to include: content team that sets standards, governs decisions, and develops or curates select enterprise content where it adds value, and a team focused on skills models to ensure learning is consistently mapped to skills and career pathways in the LMS.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define and maintain enterprise learning standards, principles, and quality frameworks, setting clear expectations for design, modalities, branding, accessibility, and overall learner experience.
  • Act as the enterprise steward for “what good looks like” in learning at CBRE, ensuring standards are practical, proportionate, and enable consistency without over-engineering.
  • Own the learning governance model, including decision rights, approval processes, and escalation paths, while clearly defining where enterprise standards apply versus where segments have flexibility.
  • Provide transparent frameworks, templates, and guidance that enable faster decision-making, reduce duplication, and drive consistency across the learning ecosystem.
  • Own the enterprise learning content strategy, including build / buy / curate principles and oversight of third-party content selection, integration, and usage.
  • Govern the full content lifecycle—intake, prioritization, creation, curation, refresh, and retirement—ensuring content is reusable, on-brand, skills-aligned, and fit for global use.
  • Lead a small central team responsible for enterprise content development/curation and skills management, including skills frameworks, mapping, and career pathway logic within the LMS.
  • Oversee skills and career pathing to ensure alignment with enterprise skills models and maintain coherent, up-to-date pathways supported by LMS data and insights.
  • Enable the safe, effective use of AI in learning by defining guardrails, quality standards, and controls, while balancing speed and innovation with risk, accuracy, and brand integrity.
  • Partner with Digital & Technology, Legal, and People Governance to align on AI, compliance, and policy requirements, translating these into practical learning standards.
  • Ensure all learning content and delivery meet regulatory, compliance, audit, and risk requirements, maintaining audit-ready documentation without unnecessary burden.
  • Anticipate emerging trends (e.g., AI, accessibility, data) and evolve standards and practices accordingly
  • Partner with segment Talent and Learning leaders to drive adoption, enabling speed within guardrails and positioning the function as an enabler rather than a blocker.
  • Provide consultative support to the business and L&D teams on learning needs, content strategy, and eLearning solutions (including custom and off-the-shelf content).
  • Use data, quality reviews, and learner feedback to continuously improve standards, content, and pathways, identifying opportunities to simplify, modernize, or retire learning assets.
