Salary Range: $138,000.00 To $165,000.00 Annually

Position Summary

The position of VP, Learning and Development is responsible for shaping and maintaining the learning and development strategy for the organization, including a mix of functional training and leadership development that drives employee growth and fosters a culture of continuous learning. The incumbent is expected to both enhance current and recommend, develop and implement new credit union learning and development offerings for both front-line and back-office support teams that are effective, engaging and dynamic as well as in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. 

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in organizational development, HR or related field, or equivalent education or work experience is required.
  • 4-5 years of organizational learning and development experience, including people management and ownership of strategic plan.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of staff. 
  • Proven leadership skills to manage geographically dispersed teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Dynamic personality with ability to build rapport and foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, with ability to both draft and edit written learning materials, communications and presentations in an engaging and competent manner.
  • Strong PC skills, with experience in learning design software preferred.
  • Familiarity with LMS is strongly preferred.
  • Nimble, flexible and strong ability to adapt to change
  • Strong organization skills sufficient to successfully manage multiple projects, establish priorities and meet or exceed deadlines.
  • Track record of applying critical thinking and emotional intelligence skills in a wide variety of situations.

Essential Duties

  • Create, implement and maintain a comprehensive learning and development strategy that is aligned with the organization’s strategic goals, including both leadership development and functional training.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of training programs and courses, including new hire orientation.
  • Continually assess and review delivery model of all offerings to ensure they are delivered in an effective, efficient and engaging manner.
  • Serve as primary facilitator of leadership development program courses, supporting the growth and development of program participants within each cohort.
  • Implement effective evaluation program that regularly captures and reviews results, as well as continual content review process to ensure material delivered is accurate and relevant.
  • Establish KPIs and key metrics related to development offerings in order to monitor and measure effectiveness and participant experience, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Working with business line leaders, assess and identify organizational skill gaps and development needs and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Responsible for management and oversight of full Learning and Development department, including design, delivery, evaluation and support.
  • Participate in projects occurring within the organization, serving as lead for all aspects related to training requirements.
  • Responsible for maintenance and utilization of Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring that all capabilities of system are being utilized and leveraged.
  • Complete and participate in compliance training as assigned, and adhere to all policies and procedures established at the organization.
  • Demonstrate leadership in words and actions on a daily basis; act as role model for success and engagement. Create a positive work environment conducive to trust and transparency.
  • Serve as a member of the HR leadership team, leading by example and serving as a mentor for junior members of the team.
  • Perform other duties and serve on ad hoc committees as assigned.

Work Environment and Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in an indoor office setting, generally at a computer or other work station, which may include standing or sitting for longer periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm

Saturday-Sunday: OFF

Full time – 40 hours/week
